BRIO Programme
The BRIO programme was developed following the success of the ‘My Life Programme’, to support staff to manage their own behaviours and responses to create a more sensitive and personalised approach to care for people living with long term conditions.
The evidence based programme uses the benefits of experiential group and individual learning, personal coaching and is designed to fit the specific context of the environment in which they work.
Programme Design
The core BRIO programme is delivered over 12 weeks with a follow up evaluation meeting 4 weeks afterwards. The outcomes will be aligned to the agreed expectations of the local management team and a personal liaison contact will be provided from the BRIO programme to support any operational changes or issues that may impact on the delivery of the programme.
The basic programme includes 10 sessions, 7 group sessions and 3 individual coaching sessions for participants of the programme. On line options are possible to extend the virtual flexibility of the programme and to enhance learning.
The programme is accredited by the Open College Network (OCN) level 2/3.
As the programme builds on experiential learning and behaviour changes it will suit participants of all abilities and learning styles.
Outcomes
The programme uses the re-knowned ‘Outcome Star’ as the basis for demonstrating changes in behaviours/responses and the team will work with local managers to determine desired local changes and expectations from the programme.
The Advancing Potential team will work with the local teams to capture outcomes achieved of the people the organisation supports and to demonstrate evidence required to meet legislative/quality requirements.
The Team
The team that developed the Programme were committed sharing their experiences from a wide spectrum of professional backgrounds. As trained coaches and sessional leads they came together through this innovative programme to support staff to improve the quality of life and enhance ‘self-management’ for people living with long term conditions receiving care.
